STUDIES AND DESIGN DEPARTMENT

It makes complete studies in different industrial areas.:

		Mines and Ore treatment;
		Chemical industries;
		Agribusiness.

As far as these areas are concerned the department has a significant experience in :

		Feasibility and design studies;
		Basic and detailed engineering;
		Consultancy and technical support;
		Renovation, extension and improvement of current installation profitability.

Our studies and design department is made of 7 technical services :

Process service :

It deals with the development of the basic studies necessary for the project fulfilment. The process book supplied by our licence partner is used as a basis.

Instrumentation service :

This department is in charge of understanding our customers' requests by helping them to :


		describe their targets;
		set a value on their restrictions;
		define solutions.

The next step consists in carrying out their project, either a modernization or a new installation .

Thus we can describe the main tasks as followed :


		Participation in the elaboration of the PID (Piping and Instrument Diagram);
		Making up and tracking of the tool list;
		Assistance and tracking of the functional analysis elaboration;
		Elaboration of instruments technical specifications;
		Study of the pilot and leading of installation room;
		Elaboration of the DSCC (Digital System for Command Control);
		Elaboration of standard assembly diagrams;
		Wiring studies (cupboard connector block, junction box, cables definition…);
		Automatism studies (achievement of logical diagrams used as a basis for functional analysis.);
		Tracking of instrumentation in ‘' packages ";
		Technical definition of installation works ;
		Technical analysis responds to calls for tenders ;
		Assembly supervision;
		Assistance for the DSCC configuration;
		Assistance for synchronisation tests and starting up and so on.

Piping service :

The piping service carries out installation drawings, piping tramping drawings and fitting specifications.

Mechanical service :

This department deals with :


		The elaboration of general implantation drawings for installations and handling of bulk goods;
		The elaboration of fitting drawings;
		The setting of managing drawings (especially for Civil engineering and framework);
		The setting of customer lists;
		The setting of general and detailed plans;
		The setting up of dimensions for handling equipments to be used for bulk goods;
		The setting of requisitions (general specifications, particular specifications, technical files etc...);
		Studies of technical offers;
		The making of orders’ technical description;
		Customer support.

Electronic service :

It sets up and calculates the dimensions of equipment structures and metallic frameworks. It is also responsible for boiler-making studies.

Its main skills are :


		HV/MV & MV/LV sets ;
		MV boards;
		MV boards & low voltage cupboard;
		Auxiliary equipments;
		Details as regard cables, cables paths and implantation;
		Automatism and supervision systems;
		Etc…

Framework / Boiler-making service :

It sets up and calculates the dimensions of equipment structures and metallic frameworks. It is also responsible for boiler-making studies.

Civil Engineering service :

It deals with the design and dimensions of concrete works and fabrics eventually.

CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

The construction and maintenance department’s mission is to respond to calls for tenders and to carry out all projects entrusted to SMESI by supplying all materials and workforce needed by the varied production entities.

In order to succeed this department is made of several services such as:

Method and logistic service :

Its mission is to :

		Track the department activity and capital budget ;
		Coordinate the activity of the Hygiene, Safety and Environment comity;
		respond to call for tenders;

		Supervise the achievement of significant transactions such as material supply, planning, sites coordination.

Valuation and scheduling service :

Its mission is to :

		Prepare technical offers and commercial cost estimates in order to respond to call for tenders;

		Track the achievement of current projects: planning, supplying, coordination between internal services, customers and suppliers.

Works and material service :

Its mission is to :



		Take part in the elaboration of cost estimates, price enquiries and respond to call for tenders it has received ;

		Take part in orders tracking (planning, supplying, coordination between internal services, customers and suppliers.).

North area works service :

Its mission is to :

		Manage the north area building sites;
		Carry out projects entrusted to SMESI in this area;
		Elaborate cost estimates and proposals concerning the north area;

		Bring a logistic support to Safi, Khouribga & Jorf Lasfar areas.

Centre area works service :

Carry out projects entrusted to SMESI in Khouribga and surrounding areas. It also helps in surface mine areas and for other big schemes (i.e. Gantour and Boucraâ).

Jorf Lasfar area works service :

Carry out projects entrusted to SMESI in El Jadida and surrounding areas, mainly in Jorf Lasfar’s chemical industries.

South area works service :

Carry out projects entrusted to SMESI in Safi and surrounding area, mainly in Safi’s chemical industries. If needed it also helps to carry out small projects in Youssoufia and Benguerrir.
